Is ROAD LORDS for free?

Online navigation mode is and always will be for free. Please, keep in mind that it requires constant internet access while driving for navigation to be able to download the map data and calculate the route.

The offline version is available in a paid subscription. After you subscribe to Premium, you will be able to download selected maps to your device and use it without an internet connection. However, Premium Professional includes online toll costs, and you'll need to have internet access to see the prices, but the data consumption would be low or almost none.

How much do Premium and Premium Professional cost?

If you'd like to use offline maps, you can subscribe to our Premium or Premium Professional yearly plans.

Is ROAD LORDS application available on iOS?

Unfortunately, the iOS version isn't available at the moment. It's not yet in development, and we currently don't have any specific plans for the iOS version to launch.

What Android version is required by ROAD LORDS application?

At the moment, you can install ROAD LORDS on the devices that run on the operating system Android 7 or higher. Due to the consistent implementation of new features and technologies to our application, OS and hardware requirements will increase over time.

Why can't I download the application in my country?

We've launched the application only in specific countries around Europe, so it can't be downloaded in those not supported. However, the list of countries where ROAD LORDS app is available continues to grow.

ROAD LORDS is currently available in:
Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Swiss, Turkey, and United Kingdom.

The application stops working or is often crashing after the last update.

If you encounter any errors or unexpected app behavior, please follow the steps below that might help fix the problem.

  1. Delete cache
    Settings - Apps - ROAD LORDS - Storage - Clear Cache
  2. Delete app data
    Settings - Apps - ROAD LORDS - Storage - Clear Data
  3. Reinstall the application

ROAD LORDS navigated me through restrictions, roads prohibited for trucks, etc.

Error in route calculation or incorrect map information could cause such a problem. We are constantly working on improving the routing and map accuracy. So it's important to notify us about any particular issues. Please, send us the exact location where the problem occurred (screenshots, address, coordinates, …) and details about the restriction to help@roadlords.com. We'll check it right away and fix it.

Why does navigation ignore road closures on my routes?

The navigation considers only live traffic data within a 100km radius, and it constantly recalculates the route accordingly to make it as up-to-date as possible. As you approach the road closure, navigation will trigger live traffic recalculation and changes the way to avoid it.

Why can't my route be calculated?

Sometimes, due to restrictions on the road that apply to your vehicle parameters, route calculation might not be able to create a route. In this case, you would receive the following error: The start/destination doesn't meet the truck's parameters. Please, enter a suitable road, or select a destination on a suitable road.

You can change your vehicle parameters in Settings - Vehicle Settings and try again to get directions.

An unstable or weak internet connection can also cause route calculation errors. If you drive in places with a weak connection, we can suggest you use our offline maps.

This new street or restriction is not on the map. Why?

Map updates are being done in specific time frames (quarterly). If a new road or restriction is not on the map, it will most likely be added in the following map update. If a specific address or restriction is missing on the map, you can always report it at help@roadlords.com. We will then check it with our map provider and ensure that it is created.

Why ROAD LORDS keep stopping after leaving it in the background?

Forgetting the route or crashing after leaving ROAD LORDS app and getting back to it might be caused by device overloading. Android performance manager would then try to minimize the overload by terminating some services running in the application. If this is the case, closing other apps running in the background might help with the problem.

Why the place I created on the map was removed?

Two reasons might cause this:

  1. Moderation team needs to verify a place you created, which can take up to 48 hours. A new place is not visible on the map during the verification process.
  2. If a new place was created incorrectly, the moderation team won't approve it and will be removed from the map. Please make sure that the address and name of the place are correct.

Why can't I download maps?

Please keep in mind that maps are included only in our Premium subscriptions. If your subscription is active, but you cannot download the maps, follow the below troubleshooting.

  1. Check your internet connection. You can open a random website to see if it loads.
  2. See the storage indicator on the bottom of the screen in Settings - Offline Maps. If your storage is almost full, you can free some space by deleting photos and videos or uninstalling some apps that you no longer need.
  3. Check for any firewall or antivirus app that could be blocking the download.
  4. If you have more than one android device at your disposal, try downloading the map on the other device.

If the issue persists among different devices and networks, please send us your user code, which you can find in Settings > Personalization and Data, and any additional information to help@roadlords.com.

For what vehicle types is ROAD LORDS suitable?

According to your preferences, you can choose among the following vehicle types: Truck (over 3.5t), Van (up to 3.5t), Taxi, Car, or Bus. Please go to Settings - Vehicle Settings - Select a vehicle type to change your vehicle.

How to adjust map zoom in the navigation mode?

To adjust the zoom level, plan the route and start navigating - tap the map and hold - zoom controls will show up on the side of the screen - adjust your zoom as required.

How to change the volume level of the navigation instructions?

You can adjust the volume level directly in Android. Press the volume control buttons on the side of your device and set desired media volume level. You can also do this in mobile Settings - Sounds and vibration - Volume - adjust "Media" volume.

How to delete ROAD LORDS cache or data?

You can delete cache or app data from your device by going to mobile Settings - Apps - ROAD LORDS - Storage - Clear cache/data. Please note that you will be required to log in again to the application after deleting app data.

Is it possible to edit maps?

There is no possibility to edit or correct the map directly in the application. You can only add or edit places that are on the map. If you'd like us to edit any road restriction or other map inaccuracy, please email us at help@roadlords.com with the exact place and correct information. We will then edit it with our map provider.

How to enable automatic day & night mode?

Because this feature depends on your device settings, you need to enable automatic day & night mode on your device first:
Mobile Settings - Display - Dark mode settings - click "Turn on scheduled" - check "Sunset to sunrise".

The second step is to enable automatic mode in ROAD LORDS application:
ROAD LORDS - Settings - Preferences - Color theme - and check "Apply from system settings". From now on, ROAD LORDS will switch between the day & night screen automatically.

How to turn ROAD LORDS off?

You can turn ROAD LORDS off in the notification tab at the top of the screen. You can access it by swiping your finger from the top of the screen to the bottom. Press "Quit" in the "ROAD LORDS is running" notification, and it will be turned off. ROAD LORDS runs in the background to provide traffic information useful to all drivers even when the user does not use ROAD LORDS at that moment.

How to permanently disable ROAD LORDS from running in the background?

To stop ROAD LORDS from collecting traffic information in the background, please disable "Background Activity" in Mobile Settings - Apps - ROAD LORDS - Battery. ROAD LORDS won't be running in the background anymore after closing the application.

How can I add/find/rename my favorite places?

After you've searched an address or any location on the map, press the blue arrow on the bottom tab. Then press the "Add to Favorites" button, and you'll save the place to your favorites.
To see the favorites list, tap on the search box and select the heart icon.
The option to rename or delete a favorite will appear if you press and hold your finger over the selected favorite item in the list.

How to create a Place of Interest?

Tap on the blue location icon in the bottom right corner of the screen, find the exact location on the map, select the category, fill out a name and other helpful information, and press the "Save Place" button. The place will then be sent for approval. After the place is approved, it will be displayed on the map for everyone.

I reported an incident yesterday, and today when I came back to this point, the incident was gone. Why?

After reporting an incident on the map, it will appear only for a specific period and then disappear. The rule is that your incident remains on the map until other users mark it as invalid.

How to avoid field roads/highways/toll roads/ferries?

You can select which types of roads you'd like to avoid in Settings - Avoids. The navigation will then calculate your routes based on the options you selected.

How to add a waypoint after navigating begun?

When you're already going along a route you've created and you'd like to add a waypoint to it, you can do so in two ways:

  1. Directly from the map by holding your finger over the location until the "Add as waypoint" option appears.
  2. By pressing the three-line icon on the right bottom corner (next to ETA). Then tap the upper panel and press "Add point". You can now search it in your history, by address, from the map, or by coordinates. In this way, you can add multiple waypoints to your route.

How to add a waypoint while planning a route?

While planning a route, search for a destination and press the "Get directions" button. Tap the upper panel and press "Add point". Then you can search a location in your history, by address, from the map, or by using coordinates. In this way, you can add multiple waypoints to your route.

Can I search companies by name?

Yes, you can. Enter the company's name in the search box, and specify the city and country for better results. Keep in mind that this depends on our map provider and crowd-sourcing data. If you cannot find a specific company you know of, please create a new place on the map. It will help you and other drivers too in the future.

Can I use coordinates to find the location?

Yes, you can. It works the same way as searching by address. Fill coordinates in the search box and tap on the search result.

You can use two coordinate formats:
Decimal degrees format: 41.15555, -8.58197
Degrees, minutes, and seconds format: N 41°09ʹ20ʺ W 8°34ʹ55ʺ

How can I change the language of the application?

The language of the application matches the language of your device. So, if you want to change the app's language, you need to change your device's language. You can do so in Settings - General Management - Language. After you change a language, restart the application, and changes will be applied automatically.

How can I change the font size?

There is no possibility of adjusting font size directly in the application. However, you can set the different font sizes in your device's general settings. Then the changes will also appear within the application. Remember that the application is not optimized for different font sizes, so the app layout might get disordered.

Can I download the application and maps to an SD card or only internal memory?

First, you need to download the application and maps to your device's internal memory. Then, you'll be able to move it to the external memory by going to Settings - Storage and selecting the option to transfer all data to an SD card.
